If the Upper Tavy is at the dangerous in the trees level then the Walkham into the Lower Tavy is an excellent continuous run. Starts off as grade 2 but soon produces a good continuous narrow fast grade 3+? that goes on with an almost Alpine continuity. Gotta be lots of water in it though. The other major issue is swell direction, and obviously that must be towards the coast. Waves do go round corners by a form of refraction, which is why a westerly swell can give good surf on some north facing beaches. But this is a local phenomenon caused by the shallowing water and won't make a north-westerly swell turn a corner at Land's End and run up the Channel.
