It seems that more and more people are only interested in moving water, and freestyle - and hence don't spend much time on flat water. The progression of Star Tests doesn't seem to apply. Many people take 3* so they can go to HPP or Teeside or wherever. Of all the 4* paddlers I know, none ever took 1* or 2*. г Is anyone going to be heading to the Tryweryn next weekend ?, I told my girlfriend that I'd take her to North Wales for the Weekend, Hopefully she won't notice the boat on the roof. Also, it looks like there might only be 2 of us this weekend so we may stick to something easier? maybe the upper Conwy....don't really know yet. We'll head to Wales with passengers reading the guidebook I think! The swim was at the last drop before the confluence with the Tees. In the guide your pic shows a number of rocks, all were covered, it was big and powerful! My intrepid leader was coming down just left of centre forgeting that the line we had seen was hard left!! He swam over the last part of the rapids and it wasn't that pleasant to watch. |
